This fall will be the 70th anniversary of the first running of the Great American Mountain Rally! (GAMR)
Thanksgiving weekend 1953 was the start of an event that ran for 4 years – through 1956.
Until 2018; that is when my friend Steve McKelvie and I decided we needed to revive this historic event as the Great American Mountain Rally Revival (GAMRR)
Since that first revival running in 2018 our entrees have traversed almost 1600 miles though some of New England’s most beautiful countryside.
We have run though New York’s Adirondack Mountains; Vermont’s Green Mountains; New Hampshire’s & Maine’s White Mountains and Lakes Regions.
We have retraced hundreds of miles of the original routes that were run in the 1950’s.
Plans for this years event are progressing with the dates set for September 25th-27th.
John Buffum and I have decided to return to the beautiful state of Vermont.
